Here is a rather thorough blog entry from the Atlantic on the cost-control measures in the Senate health insurance reform bill. It's so thorough that apparently the President via Rahm Emmanuel has ordered the White House health care task force staff to read it.

The cost-control measures seem to me pretty solid, but without some competition on the consumer side of things through a public option will these cost controls actually translate to lower premiums and better services?
