Stereolab should be talked about more often than they used to be. I was thinking today about great bands of the last dozen years or so, and you have to count them in such a discussion. Is there such a discussion?

This next clip's from about 1994 or 95. I like that a lot of the crowd look like extras in a Wacky D video.

stereolab had heaps of goodness.

I had the pleasure of seeing them once in 95 or 96 and they were great live too.

RIP mary hansen -- i've kind of lost track since then...

Saw 'em in STL around '99 or '00 at this wonderful venue called the Firehouse (since now closed). Yeah, they were awesome live - I was really impressed at how wonderfully they pulled-off such an orchestrated and balanced sound in a live setting.

Also, they actually kinda rocked when they played live - it added a different way of understanding the songs you couldn't get merely from the album.
