It's not so much that Summers and Geithner are crooks. Summers represents and still believes in the crowd that got us into this mess, and more importantly, represents and still believes in the underlying assumptions of the crowd that got us into this mess. Geithner, on the other hand, is basically a tool.

I wish the President would fire them (or at least fire Geithner and cut Summers out of the loop). If he did, Obama would get some crap from the Beltway media, but I bet America would be happy to see a change of course from what obviously is not working.
