True enough. I'm no parenting expert, but it seems like you have to walk a fine line between supporting yer kid's dreams, and knowing when to put your foot down. It seems as though these parents did too much of the former and not quite enough of the latter. I like how the end of the article paints a vivid portrait of the Dad just covering his eyes and shaking his head...in SHAME.

Right, agreed, but based on that article alone, it seems as though it's nobody's fault but his own.
Yeah, though the parents could maybe steer the kid away from it a bit. He's like some weird novelty now. That can't be good for him down the road.
