Our nation is hemorrhaging jobs at the rate of roughly 90,000 a day. This is a crisis. The Administration needs to behave like it's a crisis, because the behavior of Congressional Republicans is to stand pat and let a coming severe recession get hung on the President four years from now.

Yglesias' rhetorical question is "Why do Republicans want to prevent the creation of between 3 and 8 million new jobs?" Because that's between 3 and 8 million votes to re-elect Barack Obama in 2012. The President needs to see it this way too.

Then he needs to go to the people. This is a start, but just a start.
