Isn't this the album with the funny story about the amateur drummer playing snare with John Lennon trying to distract him and Harry Nilsson all pissed and in his face?
Yes. This is the Nilsson/Lennon "lost weekend" album too. John Lennon broke up with Yoko, flew to LA, hooked up with Nilsson, did copious amounts of coke and booze, and recorded this album. Phil Spector was in the mix, too. It was pretty much insane. Hence the insane commercial.
After the LA bender, Lennon got back with Yoko.
Also, this is the album where Nilsson had laryngitis, but sang anyway and did permanent damage to his vocal cords. His voice never fully recovered.
