Not quite enough out of Lake County, Indiana to completely close the gap. With 99% reporting in Indiana, Clinton 50.9% Obama 49.1%. The Field estimates that taking North Carolina and Indiana together, between +11 and +19 net delegates for Obama. Out of the more than 1.25 million votes cast in Indiana's Democratic primary, Obama missed the NC and IN two-fer by about 22,000 votes. But here, close most definitely counts. Clinton's now 4.2% chance of wresting the nomination from Obama required a big win in Indiana ...

... and any kind of win or close loss in North Carolina. But Obama bested Clinton in NC by roughly 230,000 votes, which erased the popular vote gains Clinton had made in Pennsylvania.

Clinton's win in Pennsylvania was one step forward. Her showing tonight constituted two steps back.

Tonight's Obama victory speech in Raleigh sounds like the speech of a party nominee:

The Obama campaign has fashioned a plan to wrap it up on May 20.

Here is a photo of the Clintons at Senator Clinton's Indiana victory speech. They don't look like they just won something:

MSNBC has confirmed that Senator Clinton will hold no public events tomorrow.

It looks as if both candidates now recognize the writing on the wall.
