Yup.
This is in no way a defense of Barry Bonds ... but it strikes me that prior to Bonds' indictment, the level of hearsay-type evidence and the quality of visual evidence that both Clemens and Bonds had taken PEDs were relatively equal. The level of media innuendo, the level of media attention, and the willingness of the media to make inferences were not equal. Maybe it was race, maybe it was the "specialness" of the home run record, or maybe it's just that Clemens was simply "more liked" by the media types (especially those working out of Bristol, CT). Maybe it was a combination of all of these reasons. At any rate, and by the media's rules, now Clemens and Bonds should be lumped together in the same category. I guess we will see.

Don't forget Cody McKay.
I'm trying to forget, dammit!
Truly we have lost our national innocence.
