Here in Philadelphia where it all began, National Park Service archaeologists continue their excavation of the "First White House." This patch of dug-up dirt has captured the interest and imagination of visitors in ways that no pre-packaged and Disnified multi-media "experience" can. (See the National Constitution Center and Liberty Bell facility.) A wonderful retort to the insulting proposition that history needs to be dumbed-down and spoon fed for people to enjoy it. link
